You are my Koozie you keep me so cozy you keep me cool when I need to stay cool. When you’re around me I feel more rosy you are my Koozie and you keep me so cool

Momma’s cooking gumbo, Poppa’s playing cards, sister got that weakness, hitting that bottle awful hard. Brother’s gone and left us but the kids are all still here. His wife hugs Merry Christmas as she’s fighting back the tears. It’s been a bad bunch of years since 2017 but I’m still excited to hear that New Year ring. Daddy don’t look young no more. Momma’s thickening up that roux. Daughter’s putting gifts beneath the tree, she’s ready for a New Year’s, too. only cars and clothes get old when you're filled with that Creole soul

Feeling blue 02:07
Jenny Jones stays at home feeling blue due to the failing health of her once time friend. Bobby Brent he's got a splint where his foot should shake and turn. He used to burn at both ends now he can't go back to where he once been, just a pile of ashes that most men wouldn't touch. Jenny thought she'd found a good man, turns out his race had already been ran and he was tired of laps around the track bringing home bacon and a Cadillac. she said Momma, Momma what can I do? Bobby don't listen to nothing but the sound of his own shoes walking further and further away from the things I need him to do. momma said;"You got to move that river you want that man to change, ain't no other way you got to bring the rain. it takes a 500 year flood to cover these plains, you got to move that river to get that man to change.

I've got fire for my fears, I need to disappear because chaos is a ladder & I'm climbing out of here. I've done too many things wrong to stay and fight because chaos is a ladder & I'm running for my life. lost my little finger for thieving and no one doubts that I'm leaving, I'm cooking on 3 burners: silver, gold & steel because chaos is a ladder & I can't stand still. I'm committed to nothing because I don't do repeat, chaos is a ladder beneath my feet.

Georgie & Caroline were sure enough star crossed lover, the stars started falling on the night they met. Moms said don’t you make your bed and forget to tuck your covers, when you find a good good love you don’t go looking for no other. Georgie worked hard, always tending bar, Northern New Mexico. Tell me, have you seen him? He's trying to make right, full of nothing but that fight, he never learned how to whimper or cry. Caroline moved west from Tennessee, had a vision in her head of a trotter running free, now she's wobbling at the hips & shaking at the knees thinking about her poor old mother.

Your eyes have got me frozen, there’s no words left to be spoken, I’m waiting on the sunrise to take away the lonely nights I despise. I’ve never been a gambler, I have only this poor heart to wager, but if you ask me to, I will. If not, I’ll Be still.

the weatherman been wrong so many times that I finally just stopped listening but when those rains came for 5 days, you know, I wish that I'd been running. When God was sleep, closing his eyes, those Devil waters would rise.

I took my good feeling, went straight to the wind, went up to Opelousas where I was loosing again. I tried my luck in a casino, they had my door prize waiting for me, I took my ticket to the window but they wouldn't cash it in. I should have stayed in Lake Charles

Houston 03:37
I wrote this song in 1982. Inside the loop they used to love you blue. A five speed engine one fifty baby blue. oh, Houston, Houston what we going to do. Houston, it's Friday night. Houston are we keeping time. An empty bathtub

No one likes a weak man, some girls like a mean man. As long as you show that green hand when the money’s running low. You can’t do no leaning, your vows have no meaning. You got to stand up straight before it’s too late and she gets to leaving. Well, she’s heading to Kentucky and I’m staying behind. Going to drink that Bourbon whiskey boys until my eyes they go blind. My Father used the belt to teach us, my Mother used her tears, my Grandfather hardly spoke as he sank into his beers. I thought we were going to build a life together, turns out she had something else in mind, Well, she's heading to Kentucky and I'm staying behind, going to drink that bourbon whiskey boys until my eyes go blind.
